I've remember sitting on a grammar class at high school when the teacher pointed at my shirt. It had the title: "puritanical euphoric misanthropia". He was asking if I know the meaning of it - I said no. And in fact I really wasn't a huge fan of people that time. For me appreciation came with the discovery of how interesting each individual person is - and how much we can learn from each other.

It's either faith or satan - but usually if you're working you have to make reports. It really makes sense, I see the reason of course, but hate it too. All the complex idea that I managed to build up in head is destined for fading out under fragment of a second - when I need to think about how much time I've spent on what.

I wanted to test a very slow service today and realized it's probably gonna take hours. Then the obvious reaction to add some timers - also I suspected quite memory consumption as well so checking that also wouldn't hurt.

We're over the contribution evening. It was a Thursday evening and around 25 - 30 people showed up, I'm quite satisfied. I was also pretty tired but when it's about Drupal and other people you forget all the pain and turn into community mode :)

If you know what is desperation and suffering - you know where I am at the moment. I've got my head around Jenkins. I was never a server guy or a CI expert but used it on many projects. And there is a point where you set it up for yourself or an official project. These are the times when I realize I know nothing.

This week we organize a contribution evening where we help people to be active in the community. It's a really great opportunity to get to know the environment and all the possibilites that open source contribution offers.

It's Saturday and in London you better be out somewhere drinking and cheering up the lads. One thing I really like here you find many things that can fit you well. It's not like the only pub in town where f(n) is only can be written with imaginary tags. Here you always have your local maximum where every f(n) has i,j where every i < n < j is less then f(n). So let me tell you how I see Soho:

That's probably one of the most commonplace thing in the world of productivity and technology - but I do hate sleeping. Sleeping takes so much time and acts like a frightened hungry lion. If you don't care about it and feed it - then it will eat you alive.

As a developer I'm reviewing or taking over codebases a lot. I had the luck to work on rockstar coders' masterpieces. I've learned so many. On the other hand I got horrible codes too. I have OCD, which makes the whole thing worse.

I've got a Raspberry Pi today to play with for a while. I was pretty excited and happy, I guess we all have that feeling when we see these small devices. Originally I was more fond of the Arduino family but I never against something good.

Somewhere you have to start using a new language. I found it pretty frustrating to invent example code. You can cut corners or be negligent easily. That's why I really love Project Euler. I solved problems here already using many languages: PHP, C, Ruby, Python and Haskell.

Sometimes you need to relax, it's inevitable. I realized sometimes having a break even if it's not really necessary have benefits. At least you have the guilty feeling being lazy. I guess I pretty much standardized all the different kind of tiredness and necessary cures. Tonight it's about the 4 steps or relaxation.

It's interesting to see how popularity of programming languages are changing. Objective-C seems to be a pretty tough carnivore in the recent years. Well, iOS gained a huge segment and people love it. However for geeks there is Go.

When I joined to Pronovix we were all encouraged to present on events. For me and some of my colleagues it started with an internal presentation series. Every week somebody introduced a topic to the company. It's interesting to see how my attitude changed towards presenting.

Yesterday I wrote about my ideal very-fast presentation workflow. As a quick recap the idea was to do no presentation at all. Making the research actually could be converted to slides. Let's see the prototype then.

I took many presentations in my life. There are definitely various types that makes big difference sometimes. There are thorough, walkthrough presentations where you explain a topic from A to Z. There are the bullshit presentations where you need the zero to hero graphs and many fancy extras. There are always creative ones of course. However I like to craft my slides as simple as possible.

I had a farewell chat with my friends with some dark beers and was curious what do they expect from the internet. It's a bit of a split question, including the next big thing and a personal wish. The outcome was sort of expectable yet interesting.
